Hi , my name is Rachel and I’m a certified Health and Wellness Coach helping women to transition smoothly through Perimenopause, Menopause and beyond.
In my late forties I was in the deep stages of Perimenopause. I had gained 15kgs and I thought if I just ran more ( ran 1 comrades) and worked on a calorie deficit I would be alright. Not true. All I did was put more stress on my poor body. I am a positive person always trying to find humour in tough situations, but deep down I felt alone and terribly unhappy. I experienced many menopausal symptoms but for me the most frightening was the fear of losing my mind. My once very efficient, sharp brain that could solve accounting problems and juggle 10 things at once was just gone!
So what changed? Covid 19 happened and it gave me time to reflect on what true health meant to me. I decided to educate myself and enrolled in a Health and Wellness Coaching Diploma. Whilst I was exercising my brain I was gaining knowledge, taking back control of my health and finding solutions to help other women just like me. 4 years later I am post menopausal, still have hormonal challenges but now i have the tools to keep me in balance. I’m now kind to myself and know that it is impossible to be perfect every day, just take one day at a time and do my best.
